Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage the purchasing activities within our oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the oil and gas industry, a strong background in procurement processes, and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers. This role will involve ensuring that all materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to procure materials, equipment, and services needed for oil and gas operations.

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.

  • Prepare, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Work closely with inventory and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and proper storage of materials.

  • Monitor and analyze procurement spending to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, ensuring continuity of supply and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and the availability of materials and services.

  • Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, supplier performance, and market conditions for management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience in the Oil and Gas Procurement needs.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry regulations and standards.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are preferred.
